From the Victorian homes of Cornstalk Heights to the storefronts on Roane Street, Dee's Roofing and Seamless Gutters brings careful, old-school roofing to Harriman.
In 1889, a group of temperance reformers led by Frederick Gates laid out a brand-new town inside a bend of the Emory River, at the foot of Walden Ridge. They called it Harriman, and the street grid they planned still shapes the city today. The towered brick building from the town's founding years now serves as Harriman City Hall, and both Cornstalk Heights and the Roane Street commercial district are on the National Register of Historic Places. Dee's Roofing and Seamless Gutters is proud to serve Harriman from our home base in Powell.
Harriman's houses tell the town's story. Large Victorian homes sit on the bigger lots up on Cornstalk Heights, while the smaller lots down toward the river were laid out for the mills and the families who worked them. Many of these homes are well over a hundred years old, with steep roof lines, multiple chimneys, and decking that has been patched more than once. They deserve a roofer who slows down and does it right.
That's how Darrell Webb runs every job. He's on site daily, and his crews have worked with him for years, so the people on your roof know exactly what he expects. On older Harriman homes we handle shingle repairs, chimney flashing that has pulled loose over the decades, and roof deck repair where boards have softened. If a section can be saved, we'll tell you — we don't replace what doesn't need replacing.
Older homes and East Tennessee weather are a hard combination. Spring and summer thunderstorms push wind-driven rain under worn shingles and around old chimneys, and winter freeze-thaw cycles crack mortar and loosen flashing. Plenty of century-old attics were built with little or no ventilation, which traps summer heat and moisture. Correcting that airflow is one of the best things you can do for an older roof, and it's something Darrell checks every time.

"On a friend's recommendation I called Dee's Roofing because I had a serious mold problem that seemed to appear overnight. What I thought was a complete disaster turned into a much simpler fix that didn't break the bank — turns out I lacked proper ventilation. They came out and repaired it for a really reasonable quote. Thanks for the great job. I might have me a new repair guy!"
