Halls Crossroads grew up where Emory Road — first ordered cut toward Nashville in 1785 — meets Maynardville Pike, and it's named for the Thomas Hall family, who settled here in the 1790s. Pulaski Hall's general store, inn and blacksmith shop once anchored the crossroads, and Halls High School, founded in 1916, still carries the family name. This unincorporated community in north Knox County lies between Black Oak Ridge and the hills to the north, with Beaver Creek winding through its center and the Halls Greenway following the creek.
